Amanda Contreras is an American artist based in Texas. She is known for her expressive, loose oil paintings that capture emotion and movement. From childhood she spent long hours drawing the people, animals, and scenes she observed around her.

She began teaching herself to oil paint years ago while taking her children to the library to keep them entertained; there she started poring over art books and experimenting with techniques. From that moment she was hooked, and years of practice and dedication refining her skills led to commissions from friends and family.

After she and her family moved from Los Angeles to Austin, Texas, she immersed herself more deeply in oil painting. She began submitting work to galleries and was accepted to show in local exhibitions.

To date she has exhibited at The Hive Gallery in the Women In Art 2024 exhibit in Bee Cave the Williamson County Art Guild Gallery and Framers Gallery in Georgetown, and she exhibits frequently with the Open Doors Gallery at Hill Country Bible Church.
